Plant 2 Gügling – Rethinking Kitchen Manufacturing
The new Plant 2 in Gügling combines cutting-edge manufacturing technology with sustainable thinking. It stands for efficiency, diversity, and progress in cabinet production – true to the LEICHT brand.

With the commissioning on October 27, 2020, Plant 2 Gügling sets new standards for LEICHT Küchen AG. A state-of-the-art facility for fully automated cabinet production was built on 80,000 m², of which 40,000 m² is production hall space.
With an investment of 90 million euros, LEICHT combines maximum efficiency with sustainability: CO₂-neutral production, photovoltaic panels covering one-third of the roof, and 4,000 m² of flower meadows.
A 4 km long shuttle system to Plant 1 ensures a seamless connection of production steps – creating a connected, forward-looking kitchen manufacturing process.

Fully Automated Sorting & Sequencing
At Plant 2, a fully automated sorting and sequencing system ensures maximum process reliability. Robots load a central sorting wall with cabinet parts, which are precisely positioned using an optimization algorithm. On the opposite side, robots retrieve the parts at the right time and place them into mobile transport units with defined destination and time windows. At the assembly point, another robot retrieves the component and moves it to the next process step – precise, efficient, and fully integrated into the sequential manufacturing logic.
Networked Technology for Precise Manufacturing
At Plant 2, panel storage, sawing, and edge banding lines are intelligently networked via cell control. The cabinet components needed daily are produced fully automatically. An integrated residual panel storage system and a high-performance decoupling buffer ensure smooth workflows between the sawing center and the four single-sided edge banding machines – for maximum efficiency and minimal material waste.
