About the radiant power of dark colours in the kitchen

Luxurious living in the heart of southern Germany? The "Mie House" shows us how.

Gemütlichkeit - the German-language equivalent of the Scandinavian trendy term "hygge" - is pretty much spot on when we take a look in the direction of southern Germany. Almost like a contemporary fairy tale interpretation, a modern enchanted residential house - the "Mie House" - stands in the middle of the Welzheim Forest. Deep black, at peace with itself, in harmony with nature and with powerful aesthetics. From the outside as from the inside, it is the colour black that dominates the view. Anyone who assumes that cosy living and a strong choice of colour contradict each other is mistaken. Whether it's a façade or a luxurious fitted kitchen from LEICHT: black is omnipresent, modern, noble, charming and expressive.

"German Gemütlichkeit": The architecture

But first, back to the architecture of the house. Thanks to the choice of materials and colours, the façade and roof of the "Mie House" merge into a uniform dark shell from which a completely reduced corpus emerges. At the same time, generous glass fronts playfully break with the closed nature of the residential building and allow views into and out of the surrounding nature of southern Germany as well as the interior design planning, in which the dark choice of colour once again plays an important main role. A very unique approach to cosiness - "The German Way". Our eyes rest not least thanks to clear building aesthetics and views into the far distance.

Whether small and refined or large in scale: LEICHT kitchens are made to measure for all scenarios.

As soon as the front door opens and the first step over the threshold is taken, a completely new, yet familiar picture emerges: from a black monolith into a hospitable family oasis. Characterised by the choice of materials and colours, a feeling of calm and elegance continues inside. The combination of cool exposed concrete and warm natural wood embodies a decisive stylistic element - an aesthetic that is implemented right down to the kitchen planning. The handleless LEICHT kitchen in a deep, velvety matt look with the BONDI range fits seamlessly into the overall modern effect. In keeping with the sculptural character of the house, the centrally placed island block with its generous solid oak worktop, grey-matt, almost black-looking fronts and filigree handles stands in the middle of the kitchen space - simply homely and cosy, without disregarding the clear architectural aesthetics. Storage space around the island block provides the necessary function, which is particularly essential in the kitchen. After all, who wants to do without their beloved cooking utensils? As a direct continuation of the open-plan LEICHT kitchen, the homely dining area with subtle touches of colour and an inviting wooden table follows on from the small luxury kitchen. This is the perfect place to live, cook, simply live - especially on the loggia. The spectacular view of the boundless expanse of the Welzheim Forest invites you to daydream without restraint.
